“Santa Claus For a Day” Edition 2007
by BASSOMO Joseph Luc
Everyone knows Santa, its long white bared and its red hat, his sled pulled by reindeers and his bags filled with toys. Christmas is the opportunity to offer presents in some countries. You can see Santa in malls and streets and he is part of the Holyday Season. Since many many years, children love this old man and small children believe in the magic of Santa. This should not make us forget that unprivileged children would also like to be visited by Santa.
In order to bring a little joy,” Education Without Borders” has started a program called “Santa for a day” last year and has decided to renew this action this year. Pygmies children from a village of South Cameroon had the pleasure to see Santa arrive in their village with a bag full of toys on December 23 2007. Let’s make a new appointment for next year and hope that in the future unprivileged children will be regularly visited by Santa.
